Javelina Leap Vineyard Winery

We are a second generation, family operated, premium boutique winery with award winning wines. All Javelina Leap wines are 100% Arizona grown grapes, produced and cellared on site. Our estate vineyard & winery is located in northern Arizona’s historic Verde Valley in Page Springs/Cornville.

Javelina Leap Vineyard & Winery processes approximately 44 tons of Arizona grown grapes, equaling about 2600 cases of wine. When you visit us you will be enjoying wines at a fully funtional vineyard and winery. Our grapes are harvested, de-stemmed, fermented, pressed, barreled, aged, bottled and in the case of our Javelina Leap Sparkling wine (méthod champenoise) riddled by hand on site. Javelina Leap's winery is equipped with 100 barrel capacity cellar and riddling racks.

Matters of Tasting Room Etiquitte

1

Get Your Taste Buds Ready

It is important not to smoke, use mouthwash or toothpaste, chew gum or mints right before and during the wine tasting. This can effect your taste buds and diminish your ability to fully enjoy the real flavor of the wine.

2

The Beauty Of Wine Tasting

The purpose of visiting a tasting room is to discover what you enjoy before buying. Over time, tasting more wines helps develop your palate. It’s normal to start with sweeter wines and gradually prefer drier styles as your taste becomes more refined.

3

Using Any Heavy Scent

Because smell is essential to wine tasting, please avoid strong scents like perfume or aftershave. These odors can interfere with others’ ability to enjoy the wine’s aroma and may linger long after you leave.

4

Spit Or Swallow

Swallowing wine during a tasting is perfectly fine—most people do. If you plan to swallow regularly, please use a designated driver. You don’t need to drink every sample to fully experience the wine; swirling, smelling, and holding it in your mouth for about 10 seconds is enough. Tasting on a full stomach also slows alcohol absorption. We offer house-made charcuterie boxes and artisan crackers designed to pair with our wines.
